DAY 1: Depart home gateway city to Beijing

Arrive in Beijing and be greeted by a Uniworld representative who will escort you to your hotel.

DAY 3: Beijing

Beijing is home to many of the sites that make China a must see destination, and today, you’ll see the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the Temple of Heaven. After your tour, relax with a traditional foot massage, and later, enjoy a succulent Peking Duck feast. (BB, L, D)

DAY 4: Beijing
Featured Excursion: The Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, and the Beijing Opera 

Begin your day with seeing the sites of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. You’ll then be taken to the Great Wall, where you’ll have a chance to walk along this historic man-made wonder—a not-to-be-missed experience. Afterward, visit the lavish Ming Tombs, and then in the evening, enjoy the famous Beijing Opera with a traditional tea service. (BB, L, D)

DAY 5: Beijing
Featured Excursion: Summer Palace, Hutongs tour with home-hosted dinner, and Shishahai Lake 

Visit the Summer Palace’s well-preserved imperial gardens and then take a rickshaw tour of the Hutongs in the old residential area of Beijing, where you will experience a traditional Chinese dinner with a local family. During the evening, take a cruise on the beautiful Shishahai Lake. (BB, L, D)

DAY 6: Beijing, fly to Xi’an
Featured Excursion: Welcome ceremony and dumpling dinner

DAY 7: Xi’an

DAY 8: Xi’an, fly to Shanghai, Tongli, Suzhou

Tour charming Tongli with its narrow streets, elegant homes, and enchanting teahouses. Then, visit Suzhou, known for its beautiful, delicate gardens. During the evening, be treated to an exciting performance of music and dance. (BB, L, D)

DAY 9: Suzhou, Shanghai
Featured Excursion: Humble Administrator Gardens tour and Embroidery Institute visit 

Tour Suzhou’s famous Humble Administrator Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the Embroidery Institute before returning to bustling Shanghai. Transfer to your hotel, where you’ll enjoy a delicious buffet dinner. (BB, L, D)
